Credence Resource Management, LLC is facing a proposed class action that claims it broke California state law by recording calls placed to consumers’ cell phones without their knowledge or consent. The plaintiff in the case says she received two calls from the debt collector on September 19, 2017 regarding a debt she allegedly owed and found out the calls were being recorded after asking the defendant’s representative at the end of the conversation. She claims she would have behaved differently when discussing such sensitive information had she been informed of the recording at the beginning of each call.
