Anderson v. Great Wolf Resorts Holdings, Inc.
Filed: October 10, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-05924
Great Wolf Resorts Holdings, Inc. (which does business as Great Wolf Lodge) is facing a proposed class action that alleges violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
New York
Great Wolf Resorts Holdings, Inc. (which does business as Great Wolf Lodge) is facing a proposed class action that alleges violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The plaintiff, a blind individual, claims he attempted to access the defendant’s website but was deterred from freely navigating its content due to, among other alleged issues, a lack of alternative text, insufficient labeling, inaccessible forms, and a lack of keyboard access. The suit argues that the defendant has unlawfully denied visually impaired individuals full access to the goods and services it offers online, including information about locations and hours, the ability to make hotel reservations, pictures and descriptions of rides and attractions, group rate information, events, and employment opportunities. From the complaint:
“Despite readily available accessible technology, such as the technology in use at other heavily trafficked websites, which makes use of alternative text, accessible forms, descriptive links, resizable text and limits the usage of tables and JavaScript, Defendant has chosen to rely on an exclusively visual interface.”
