Aldous & Associates, P.L.L.C. is facing claims that it violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by failing to include in collection letters the consumers’ right to dispute their alleged debts. In a proposed class action lawsuit filed against the debt collector, a New York woman says the letter she received neglected to inform her that unless she disputed her alleged debt, the defendant would assume it to be valid. She argues that Aldous & Associates’ lack of disclose left her unaware of her rights and unable to respond accordingly.
