Williams v. SKO Brenner American, Inc.
Filed: October 20, 2017 ◆§ 3:17-cv-01178-MMH-JRK
Debt collector SKO Brenner American faces a lawsuit claiming it sent a collection notice that failed to provide the plaintiff with enough information.
Farmingdale, New York’s SKO Brenner American, Inc. finds itself as the defendant in a proposed class action filed in Florida that claims the company mailed the plaintiff a debt collection letter that “provided no information about what the debt was related to,” specifically with regard to the original creditor. The lawsuit claims that the defendant’s collection notice provided the plaintiff only with a payment website, account number, and the amount due, far short of the information required to be provided to debtors by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
