A proposed class action complaint claims defendant Self Edge New York, LLC’s website unlawfully denies blind individuals equal access to the clothing retailer’s products and services. According to the 27-page lawsuit, the defendant’s website—Selfedge.com—contains many access barriers that prevent blind and visually impaired consumers from independently navigating or completing purchases.
Despite the availability of accessibility software, the lawsuit takes issue with the defendant’s choice for its website to rely on an exclusively digital interface, which violates blind individual’s rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the suit claims.
