Rahman v. Security Credit Systems, Inc.
Filed: November 21, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-cv-06811
Security Credit Systems, Inc. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed after the debt collector allegedly left a message on a consumer's telephone in which it failed to properly identify itself.
New York
Security Credit Systems, Inc. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed in response to the debt collector’s alleged violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The plaintiff in the case, a New York resident, claims he received a voice message from the defendant demanding that he “call back tonight by 7:30 pm eastern standard time.” The message, according to the suit, failed to identify the caller as a debt collector attempting to collect a debt despite the FDCPA’s requirement that debt collectors properly identify themselves in their communications with consumers.
