Renewable energy company SunEdison is facing a class action related to larger-than-expected business losses in 2015 and 2016. Plaintiffs allege SunEdison made false and misleading statements and did not disclose material facts related to the company’s business prospects. Some items hidden from shareholders, the suit says, includes that SunEdison had unsustainable levels of debt, that the company was facing liquidity issues, and that its yieldco business model—made up of dividend growth-oriented public companies—was unsustainable. The class includes all individuals who purchased SunEdison securities between February 19, 2014 and January 6, 2016.
