Florida
Research Centers of America, LLC is facing a proposed class action that alleges the company unlawfully sent automated text messages to consumers’ cell phones attempting to convince recipients to participate in research studies. The plaintiff in the case claims he received a text from the defendant on February 20, 2018 despite never consenting to receive “such marketing text messages.” The case asserts that the message was sent using auto-dialing technology and wrongfully invaded the plaintiff’s privacy, causing him to “become understandably aggravated with having to deal with the frustration of unwanted text messages.”
