Geraci v. Red Robin International, Inc.
Filed: November 1, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv15542
Red Robin International is facing a New Jersey man's lawsuit in which he claims the restaurant chain sent him several unauthorized telemarketing texts.
New Jersey
Red Robin International, Inc. is the defendant in a New Jersey man’s proposed class action in which he claims the restaurant chain sent him several unauthorized telemarketing text messages.
The lawsuit says that the defendant began texting the plaintiff regarding the Red Robin Royalty program in 2018 without obtaining the man’s prior express permission to do so. The plaintiff further charges the company continued to text him even after he attempted to opt out of future messages. From the complaint:
“After receiving text messages from Red Robin advertising the Red Robin Royalty program and a 50% promotion, Plaintiff responded ‘Stop’ as instructed to stop the messages. But despite acknowledging his request and promising that the ‘text messages have been canceled,’ Red Robin continued thereafter to send additional telemarketing text messages to Plaintiff, causing Plaintiff frustration, inconvenience, annoyance and cost.”
