Filed: March 14, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-01427
Professional Claims Bureau Inc. is the defendant in a proposed class action that alleges it failed to properly and clearly convey the amount owed in a collection notice.
Professional Claims Bureau Inc. is the defendant in a proposed class action that alleges the debt collection agency failed to properly and clearly convey in a collection notice the amount owed by the plaintiff. Citing alleged Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) violations, the lawsuit says the defendant provided the plaintiff with a “balance due” and “due date” in a collection notice, but failed to mention whether the amount owed would increase due to accrued interest and/or fees. This practice could cause the unsophisticated consumer to be unsure as to whether payment of the stated amount owed would in fact satisfy the debt, according to the suit.
