Pro-Lab, Inc. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit over claims that the company placed unauthorized telemarketing calls to a California consumer’s cellphone.
In July 2018, the plaintiff received a promotional call from the defendant—an environmental safety test kit manufacturer—advertising its products and services, according to the complaint. The suit charges the company did not obtain the plaintiff’s express written consent before placing autodialed calls to the man and continued to contact him despite his requests to not receive further solicitations. The complaint cites alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
