The official website for the PRGX data breach settlement can be found at PRGXDataIncident.com.
According to the settlement agreement, the deal covers anyone in the United States whose personal or health information was potentially compromised in the PRGX data breach.
To receive a cash payout from the deal, class members must file a valid claim form online or by mail no later than January 2, 2025.
You can submit a claim form electronically by heading to this page. Start by entering the notice ID number and confirmation code exactly as they appear in the settlement notice you received.
“If you are not sure whether you are included in the Settlement Class, you can ask for free help by emailing info@PRGXDataIncident.com,” the settlement site says.
Class members can submit a claim form to receive three years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services; up to $600 in reimbursement for documented, out-of-pocket losses incurred as a result of the breach; reimbursement of up to $5,000 for documented, “extraordinary” losses; and up to $90 in reimbursement for time spent addressing the incident, at a rate of $30 per hour.Alternatively, class members can elect to receive a cash payment of up to $75 in lieu of the above-mentioned settlement benefits.
The class action settlement was granted preliminary approval from the court in September 2024. A final approval hearing is scheduled for January 23, 2025. Per the site, settlement payments will be distributed “as soon as possible” if and when the court grants final approval to the deal and after any appeals are resolved.
An amended class action lawsuit was filed against PRGX several months after a criminal ransomware group known as Black Basta reportedly accessed its systems between April 8 and April 9, 2022. According to the case, cybercriminals stole and posted individuals’ names, Social Security numbers, financial information and other private details on the dark web as a result of PRGX’s negligent cybersecurity practices.
