Last Updated on May 8, 2018
Jackson v. Consumer Advocacy Center Inc.
Filed: January 19, 2018 ◆§ 4:18cv146
Consumer Advocacy Center Inc., aka Premier Student Loan Center, is named in a complaint alleging it robocalls and robotexts consumers without permission.
Pennsylvania
Consumer Advocacy Center Inc., which does business as Premier Student Loan Center, is the defendant in a proposed class action that seeks redress for the company’s allegedly unlawful telemarketing practices. The complaint claims the defendant, in an effort to drum up new business, sends automatically generated, unsolicited text messages and places “robocalls” to consumers without first obtaining consent to do so.
The plaintiff claims he received multiple robocalls from the defendant less than an hour apart on October 11, 2017. The man claims he then received automated text messages from the defendant in November and December advertising Premier Student Loan’s loan forgiveness services. The plaintiff says he had no prior business relationship with the defendant before the communication began.
