A Connellsville, Pennsylvania building material company has filed a proposed class action against PC Shield Inc. after allegedly receiving a junk fax from the company.
The defendant, which offers computer hardware and software protection services, sent the plaintiff an unsolicited fax promoting a discount on its services in August 2017, the lawsuit claims. The plaintiff alleges it never gave prior consent to receive any faxes from the defendant, nor had any relationship with PC Shield prior to receiving the unsolicited communication. Further, the case alleges the unwanted fax did not display a proper opt-out notice. The defendant sent the same fax to at least 40 other recipients without their prior express permission, the complaint claims.
