Filed: June 13, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-cv-03542
Professional Bureau of Collections of Maryland, Inc. is the defendant in a proposed class action that claims it failed to indicate the true amount of an alleged debt.
New York
Professional Bureau of Collections of Maryland, Inc. is the defendant in a proposed class action lawsuit that claims it violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by failing to indicate to consumers the true amount of their alleged debts. The plaintiff says she received a collection letter from the debt collector that stated her balance, but neglected to mention whether the balance would increase due to interest and other fees. According to the complaint, the plaintiff’s account was accruing interest and was subject to extra charges, but without the details of those fees, the woman could not determine how much she truly owed.
