Thomas, Individually And on Behalf of All Others Similarly Situated v. P&B Capital Group, Llc et al
Filed: January 31, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv165
A consumer's lawsuit takes issue with a debt settlement offer made by P&B Capital Group on behalf of Crown Asset Management.
New York
A New York woman alleges in a proposed class action that defendant P&B Capital Group, LLC presented her with a debt settlement offer on behalf of co-defendant Crown Asset Management, LLC that came with a deceptive and non-existent payment deadline. The lawsuit claims the letter the plaintiff received from the defendants on February 2, 2017 stated payment must be submitted on or before February 9 in order for the woman to take advantage of the deal.
“This is merely a deceptive tactic to coerce a rushed payment from [the plaintiff],” the complaint reads, pointing out that the defendants offered to settle the plaintiff’s $944.56 debt in exchange for payment of that exact same amount.
