New York
DZ Restaurants, Inc., which owns Chianti II Ristorante in Saratoga Springs, New York, is the defendant in a proposed class action claiming the eatery’s website, ChiantiRistorante.com, unlawfully denies blind users equal access in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The plaintiff alleges the website for the defendant’s restaurant contains access barriers that make it “impossible for blind users to even browse and make a purchase on the website.” According to the complaint, the plaintiff intended to buy two gift cards on ChiantiRistorante.com, but could not independently navigate the site.
