The Olympic Club data breach settlement covers anyone who was sent a written notice of the incident that the California golf club discovered on or about June 17, 2022.
According to the initial class action lawsuit, the Olympic Club’s failure to secure its computer network allowed hackers to gain access to victims’ names, Social Security numbers and financial account information.
Class members can obtain benefits from the deal by submitting a valid, timely claim form through the official settlement website, OlympicClubDataSettlement.com.
The deadline to file a claim form is December 19, 2024.
You can start the claim process by heading to this page and entering the claim login ID and PIN printed on the settlement notice that was mailed to you. If you are unable to locate your ID and PIN, contact the settlement administrator using the information provided here.
Class members can file a claim to receive compensation for unreimbursed expenses incurred as a result of the Olympic Club data breach, including up to four hours of lost time spent addressing the incident at a rate of $22.50 per hour, which adds up to a maximum of $500 per person.
Covered individuals who were victims of documented monetary loss or fraud caused by the misuse of their private information can submit a claim for up to $5,500 in reimbursement. Finally, class members can submit a claim for two years of free credit monitoring service.
The deal was granted preliminary approval by the court in August 2024, and a final approval hearing is scheduled for January 15, 2025. Settlement benefits will be issued to eligible class members once the deal receives final approval and after any appeals are resolved, the settlement site says.
