The Olaplex settlement, which was preliminarily approved by the court on November 26, 2024, covers all persons in the United States who bought one or more Olaplex products that included “Made in USA” or similar language on the product or its packaging between February 7, 2019 and September 6, 2024 (the “class period”).

Olaplex settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form will receive a $5 voucher for use toward the purchase of an item available on the Olaplex website, the settlement website states. The Olaplex settlement voucher, which cannot be redeemed for cash, can be combined with other offers on the Olaplex website, such as sales or other price reductions, but may not be combined with another promotional code. The settlement voucher will expire 12 months after issuance, the site adds.
Olaplex settlement claim forms must be filed online or by mail by May 12, 2025.

A final approval hearing for the deal is scheduled for September 12, 2025. Olaplex settlement vouchers will be issued within 60 days of the deal receiving final approval from the court, the website states.
The Olaplex class action lawsuit, filed in April 2024, alleged the company unlawfully labeled certain products as “Made in USA,” or with similar language. The suit alleged that the Olaplex hair care products at issue, in fact, included numerous foreign-made ingredients and that consumers bought the items under the false belief that the products were made entirely in the United States.
