A New York woman has filed suit against debt collector Regional Adjustment Bureau, Inc. claiming the defendant failed to make proper disclosures in a collection letter it sent her. According to the complaint, the notice contained a balance “as of the date of this letter,” but neglected to mention whether the balance would increase due to interest, late fees, or other charges. The suit argues that, as a result, the defendant failed in its obligation to clearly communicate the amount of debt and left the plaintiff with no way to calculate how much she needed to pay to settle her account on any given day.
