NPAS, Inc. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a Florida woman who alleges the defendant sent her a letter that violated federal debt collection law. The notice, according to the suit, recommended that the plaintiff “send payment in full today” and noted that her payment was due by 10/29/17. The complaint argues that the defendant’s demand for payment overshadowed the plaintiff’s 30-day validation period during which she was permitted to dispute the alleged debt or request validation.
The case further argues the defendant failed to inform the plaintiff that the letter she received was from a debt collector attempting to collect a debt.
