Howard v. NCB Management Services, Inc. et al
Filed: March 15, 2017 ◆§ 3:17-cv-00303-BJD-JBT
NCB Management Services, Inc. and P2 Verifications Services, LLC are staring down a proposed class action filed over alleged FCRA violations.
NCB Management Services, Inc. and P2 Verifications Services, LLC—which do business as Global Verification Network, as successor to Redridge Verification Services, LLC—are staring down a proposed class action filed over alleged Fair Credit Reporting Act of 1970 (FCRA) violations.
Florida-based NCB provides accounts receivable management solutions and call center support, as well as the purchasing and collecting of consumer debts. The lawsuit claims NCB willfully violated certain FCRA requirements pertaining to mandatory disclosures and authorizations that come into play when obtaining consumer report information for employment purposes.
One alleged violation detailed by the case stems from NCB’s supposed practice of failing to provide the plaintiff and proposed class members with a copy of a document solely consisting of the defendant’s disclosure notice. The only disclosure provided by NCB noted that it procures its consumer reports from Pennsylvania-based Know It All Intelligence Group, according to the suit.
Completely unbeknownst to the plaintiff and proposed class members, NCB allegedly abruptly switched consumer reporting agencies “without informing anyone, or bothering to provide the required stand-alone disclosure or authorization form mandated by the FCRA.” According to the complaint, the reporting agency NCB switched to was defendant Redridge.
