A proposed class action out of Florida alleges defendant National Credit Management, Inc. violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDPCA) by calling the plaintiff (and proposed class members) to attempt to collect a debt without fully identifying itself as a debt collector calling to collect a debt. According to the complaint, the defendant left numerous messages on the plaintiff’s voicemail containing the same scripted wording, which failed to state the purpose or reason behind the calls.
