Frand v. GC Services Limited Partnership
Filed: July 10, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-04095
Another day, another debt collection class action filed against GC Services Limited Partnership.
A New York man has filed a proposed class action against GC Services Limited Partnership over alleged violations of federal debt collection laws. The complaint claims Houston-headquartered GC Services sent the plaintiff and proposed class members collection notices that failed to note whether the stated balances may increase due to accruing interest and/or fees.
The plaintiff argues that even though the notice he received from the defendant listed a specific dollar amount for “interest accrued since charge-off,” the GC Services still had an obligation to state whether that balance was static or dynamic.
