Filed: July 5, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-05030
Milk Bar, Inc., which operates nine Milk Bar Bakery locations nationwide, is the defendant in a proposed class action.
Milk Bar, Inc., which operates nine Milk Bar Bakery locations nationwide, is the defendant in a proposed class action that claims the company’s website is not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The lawsuit claims MilkBarStore.com is discriminatory toward blind and visually impaired users because certain access barriers contained within the site prevent commonly used screen reading software from accessing business information, including locations, hours of operation, a menu of food items and prices, and how to make reservations. According to the lawsuit, the defendant’s website and the services contained therein are “heavily integrated” with Milk Bar’s physical business locations, and therefore subject to ADA regulations.
