A proposed class action filed in Wisconsin alleges Meyer & NJUS, P.A. violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) when the law firm sent the plaintiff multiple, identical debt collection notices just a few days apart. The complaint claims this practice is misleading and confusing to the unsophisticated consumer, who may be led to inadvertently pay the same debt twice. Further, the collection notices in question allegedly presented the plaintiff with conflicting deadlines as to the debt’s validation and dispute period.
