ME Bath Spa Experience LLC is on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit that claims it sent illegal text message advertisements to consumers’ cell phones. The case, filed by a Florida woman, alleges that the defendant attempted to “drum-up business” by using a third party to send thousands of automated text messages to its customers without first obtaining their prior consent, an alleged violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. The plaintiff says she received a text from the spa company on July 5, 2017 at 12:07 p.m. that invaded her privacy and distracted her from her job.
