The court-approved website for the Mazda fuel pump class action settlement can be found at MazdaFuelPumpsSettlement.com.
The Mazda fuel pump settlement received final approval from the court on March 4, 2025. The deal covers all current or former owners, lessees or purchasers (as of September 11, 2024) of qualifying Mazda vehicles, which were equipped with certain fuel pumps manufactured by Denso International America, Inc. and its affiliates and distributed for sale or lease in the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and all other U.S. territories and possessions.
To determine if a Mazda model is covered by the settlement, class members can search for their vehicle’s identification number on the VIN lookup page, or view the list of recalled vehicles and list of additional vehicles that qualify.
Per the site, “additional” vehicles refer to those equipped with a low-pressure Denso fuel pump but were not included in the automaker’s November 2021 recall.
The deal provides several benefits depending on a consumer’s vehicle, the Mazda settlement website says.
For one, class members may submit a claim form for reimbursement of certain out-of-pocket expenses related to fuel pump repairs or replacements. According to the site, qualifying costs must be unreimbursed and must have been incurred prior to April 7, 2025. For expenses incurred between September 11, 2024 and the settlement’s effective date, consumers must provide proof they were denied coverage by the Mazda dealer prior to being charged, the website relays.
To receive reimbursement, class members must file a claim form online on this page or download a PDF claim form to complete and return by mail.
The deadline to submit a Mazda settlement claim form is June 2, 2025.
To file a claim form online, class members will need to provide their unique ID and PIN, which can be found in the settlement notice packet issued about the deal. Consumers who do not have these details can enter their car’s VIN instead.

What’s more, class members who, as of the date the settlement goes into effect, own or lease an additional vehicle are entitled to coverage under the Customer Support Program. The program will provide prospective coverage for inspection and repairs, including parts and labor, to correct fuel pump defects, the website explains.
Per the site, the coverage will run for 15 years from the date of first use—that is, the date the vehicle was originally sold or leased by a Mazda dealer. This benefit does not include salvaged or inoperable vehicles or those with titles marked flood-damaged, the website adds.
As part of the deal, Mazda will also extend its new parts warranty coverage for the fuel pump kit replaced on recalled vehicles. The website says that the extended warranty will last for 15 years from the replacement date, and up to 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
According to the Mazda settlement site, class members do not need to do anything to get coverage under the Customer Support Program or the extended new parts warranty. Consumers will automatically qualify for the applicable benefit, the website shares.
The settlement website further relays that class members who own or lease a covered vehicle undergoing fuel pump repairs or replacement pursuant to the Customer Support Program or extended new parts warranty are also entitled to receive a complimentary loaner or rental vehicle upon reasonable notice to a Mazda dealer and/or a free tow to the nearest dealer, if the car is inoperable or in a dangerous condition.
A final approval hearing was held on February 28, 2025. As the Mazda fuel pump settlement has received the ultimate okay from the court, consumers whose reimbursement claims are approved will be issued settlement payments within 60 days of their claim’s approval date, the website says.
The Mazda class action lawsuit was filed after the automaker voluntarily recalled nearly 121,000 vehicles in November 2021. Per the suit, the recalled vehicles were manufactured between April 6, 2018 and January 13, 2020 and were equipped with low-pressure Denso fuel pumps that were prone to failure as a critical component deformed over time.
The class action lawsuit contended that the automaker’s recall was insufficient because it excluded certain models impacted by the apparent defect, and failed to offer an effective remedy or provide loaner vehicles to consumers while repairs were made. In addition, the case argued that Mazda did not properly warn drivers of the safety hazards posed by the allegedly faulty fuel pumps.
