A proposed class action has been filed against ARS National Services, Inc. over claims that it failed to clearly state a New York man’s amount of debt. According to the complaint, the defendant sent the man a collection letter that set forth his “Balance,” but neglected to indicate whether it was increasing due to interest or other fees. The suit alleges that the debt was, in fact, subject to interest and that the defendant’s failure to specify the true amount of the alleged debt violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
