A legally blind individual has filed a class action against Logans Sanctuary LLC claiming the New York City-based boutique hotel’s website is in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) because it reportedly denies blind people the same access given to non-disabled customers. The 26-page complaint argues Sanctuaryhotelnyc.com contains access barriers that make it impossible for blind individuals to independently browse the site through the use of special keyboards and screen-reading software.
The site’s ADA inadequacies, the complaint continues, include inaccessible forms, the lack of adequate prompting and labeling; the denial of keyboard access; and the requirement that transactions be performed solely with a mouse.
