Lemme Lawsuit Claims GLP-1 Weight Loss Capsules Not as Effective as Advertised
Robins v. Lemme Inc.
Filed: March 10, 2025 ◆§ 1:25-cv-01938
A class action claims that Lemme GLP-1 Daily capsules cannot effectively reduce hunger or promote weight loss by increasing the body’s natural GLP-1 levels.
A proposed class action lawsuit claims that Lemme GLP-1 Daily capsules are falsely advertised in that the treatments cannot effectively reduce hunger or promote weight loss by increasing the body’s natural glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) levels.

The 17-page lawsuit challenges allegedly deceptive advertisements made by Lemme, a supplement brand founded by Simon Huck and Kourtney Kardashian Barker amid the recent GLP-1 agonist craze.
The case explains that GLP-1 is a hormone made in the small intestine that signals feelings of satiety to the brain, slows stomach emptying and triggers insulin release in the pancreas, lowering blood sugar levels. Per the complaint, medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus, Mounjaro or Zepbound are a class of drugs known as GLP-1 agonists that mimic this hormone to help manage Type 2 diabetes and obesity.
The defendant claims its Lemme GLP-1 Daily capsules support weight management without the need for expensive injectable drugs by increasing the amount of naturally occurring GLP-1 in the body by 17 percent, the filing relays.
According to the case, however, Lemme has no clinical evidence demonstrating that a 17-percent increase in naturally occurring GLP-1 has any effect on caloric consumption, satiety and weight loss.
“If it were that simple, the pharmaceutical industry wouldn’t have spent decades developing stable GLP-1 analogs as the natural form breaks down too fast in the body to be effective,” a 2024 Teching It Apart article asserts.
The lawsuit notes that the naturally occurring GLP-1 hormone is quickly broken down by enzymes in the body and has a half-life of approximately one to two minutes. By comparison, GLP-1 drugs are designed to resist this breakdown for longer-lasting effects, the suit says. For instance, the GLP-1 agonist semaglutide—marketed under brand names such as Ozempic, Wegovy and Rybelsus—has a half-life of approximately seven days when administered by injection, the case shares.
Participants in two separate studies experienced no changes in body weight, body mass index or waist/hip ratio after taking one active ingredient in Lemme GLP-1 Daily capsules, Eriomin, for four months, the complaint alleges.
“And how much is this supposed wonder drug whose GLP-1 weight management effects have apparently eluded scientists, researchers, and multi-billion-dollar pharmaceutical companies for decades?” the Lemme lawsuit questions. “A one-month supply costs $90, and if consumers subscribe, a six-month supply costs $378.”
The plaintiff, a California resident, says she would not have bought Lemme GLP-1 Daily capsules had she known the company’s claims about the supplement’s weight loss benefits lacked any clinical basis or support. Indeed, the woman says she gained five pounds while on the Lemme supplement.
The lawsuit looks to represent all United States residents who, during the maximum period of time permitted by law, purchased Lemme GLP-1 Daily capsules from LemmeLive.com for personal, family or household consumption and not for resale.
