Knutson v. Suttell & Hammer PS et al
Filed: March 19, 2018 ◆§ 2:18cv101
Suttell & Hammer, P.S. and Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC have been named in a proposed class action lawsuit.
Suttell & Hammer, P.S. and Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC have been named in a proposed class action lawsuit that alleges the defendants filed a debt collection lawsuit against a Washington woman without clearly identifying her creditor in a court summons. The plaintiff claims she received a summons and complaint from the defendants sometime in February 2018 regarding a purported debt, but the document allegedly made no reference to woman’s original creditor aside from including the last four digits of a 16-digit account number. The woman says the defendants left her unable to identify the entity “that was claiming entitlement to her money” – a right the suit claims she is entitled to under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
