Burke et al v. Maximum Booting Company, Llc et al
Filed: December 31, 2017 ◆§ 1:17cv5553
Maximum Booting Company, LLC and an individual are facing a Georgia man’s claims that the defendants unlawfully disabled vehicles by placing boots or similar devices on their tires without proper authorization.
Georgia
A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against Maximum Booting Company, LLC and an individual with control of the business over a Georgia man’s claims that the defendants unlawfully disabled vehicles by placing boots or similar devices on their tires without proper authorization. Also named in the lawsuit are JDN Realty Corporation, DDR Property Management LLC, and another individual, who the suit says hired Maximum Booting to perform the allegedly illegal activity.
The plaintiff claims the defendants immobilized parked vehicles in counties that “do not have a vehicle immobilization ordinance” and collected “an egregious amount of booting fees” from car owners for the release of their vehicles. According to the suit, the plaintiff was charged $500 after his car was booted in a private parking lot.
The suit was originally filed in state court but has been removed to federal court in the Northern District of Georgia.
