Filed: October 20, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-cv-01368-DSC
Retail Properties of America, Inc. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by two women who claim several of the defendants’ properties are not wheelchair accessible.
Pennsylvania
Retail Properties of America, Inc. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by two women who claim several of the defendants’ properties are not wheelchair accessible. Citing alleged violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the plaintiffs demand that the defendant modify its sites to comply with accessibility standards, such as reducing slopes in parking areas to less than 2.1 percent, minimizing openings in parking lot grates, clearly marking accessible parking spots, and mounting the required signs at least 60 inches above the ground. As a result of these alleged ADA violations, the plaintiffs say they were unlawfully denied full and equal access to the defendant’s facilities.
