Sela Group Hotel LLC, which owns and operates Paper Factory Hotel in New York, is the defendant in a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a blind individual.
Sela Group Hotel LLC, which owns and operates Paper Factory Hotel in New York, is the defendant in a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a blind individual who claims the hotel’s website is inaccessible to the blind population. According to the suit, “Paperfactoryhotel.com contains numerous access barriers that make it difficult if not impossible for blind customers to use the website.” The plaintiff claims he is unable to complete any transactions on the site using his screen reader because of the lack of alternate text, accessible image maps, options to use a keyboard instead of a mouse, and “clear navigability standards.”
“By failing to make the website accessible to blind persons, Defendant is violating basic equal access requirements under both state and federal law,” the suit claims.
