Lawsuit: Olivina Men’s Products Falsely Advertised as 'Naturally Pure'
Last Updated on May 8, 2018
Evans v. Olivina Napa Valley LLC
Filed: November 6, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-06450
According to a lawsuit, Olivina's claims that its men's products are 'naturally pure' don't add up.
From New York comes a proposed class action that alleges Olivina Napa Valley LLC deceptively centers its marketing and advertising for its men’s products around the false implication that its body washes, conditioning creams, and deodorants contain natural ingredients. According to the lawsuit, this is not the case. The plaintiff claims the defendant’s All-In-One Body Wash Bourbon Cedar; Rinse Out | Leave In Conditioning Cream; and Bourbon Cedar Aluminum-Free Deodorant, despite their labels' "Naturally Pure" claims, contain a roster of synthetic chemical ingredients that includes glycerin, sodium benzoate, panthenol, tocopherol and many others.
The lawsuit alleges Olivina Napa Valley has violated New York consumer protection laws and taken advantage of consumers’ preference for all-natural goods with regard to its “naturally pure” claims for the above-mentioned products. Had the company not claimed its men’s products were all natural, the lawsuit argues, consumers may not have been willing to pay the premium price being charged for products that contain man-made ingredients.
