Del-Orden v. Central Amusement International LLC
Filed: October 10, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-07756
A visually impaired individual has filed suit against Central Amusement International LLC over claims that its website violates the Americans with Disabilities Act.
New York
A visually impaired individual has filed suit against Central Amusement International LLC over claims that its website violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The defendant allegedly operates Luna Park in Brooklyn and its corresponding website that offers users park information – such as location, hours, contact information, photographs, a list of attractions, events, and employment opportunities – and allows them to purchase tickets. The plaintiff claims he attempted to purchase park tickets online but was unable to complete the transaction due to the incompatibility of the site with his screen-reading software. The suit argues that the defendant is obligated under the ADA to provide equal access to its goods and services to both visually impaired and non-disabled customers.
