New Jersey
Health Insurance Innovations, Inc. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a New Jersey woman who claims the defendant placed illegal robocalls to her cell phone without her consent “and over her explicit objection.” The lawsuit alleges that the insurance company was attempting to contact someone else, and that the plaintiff asked to be placed on the company’s “do-not-call” list. Nevertheless, the automated calls persisted, according to the complaint. The suit claims that Health Insurance Innovations “operates an aggressive contact schedule which bombards unsuspecting consumers” with illegal robocalls, in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
