Guzman v. Hillcrest Davidson And Associates et al
Filed: November 7, 2018 ◆§ 2:18cv15686
Hillcrest Davidson and Associates is the defendant in a lawsuit that claims the company engaged in unlicensed debt collection activities in New Jersey.
New Jersey
Hillcrest Davidson and Associates is the defendant in a proposed class action wherein a New Jersey consumer claims the company engaged in unlicensed debt collection activities.
According to the lawsuit, the defendant sent a collection notice to the plaintiff in April 2018 without the required licenses to act as a debt adjuster in New Jersey. Further, the suit alleges the letter failed to effectively disclose the recipient’s rights in that it failed to state that a debt dispute must be made in writing. The case says that the company “failed to adequately review its actions to ensure compliance with the law, both Federal and State.”
