A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against Heritage Financial Recovery Services over claims that the defendant failed to clearly identify a consumer’s creditor in a debt collection letter.

A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against Heritage Financial Recovery Services over claims that the defendant failed to clearly identify a consumer’s creditor in a debt collection letter. According to the complaint, the letter stated “Re: Bergenline X-Ray Diagnstic [sic] Center,” but neglected to name any entity as the plaintiff’s “creditor,” “original creditor,” “current creditor,” “account owner,” or “creditor to whom the debt is owed” in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
