Berger v. Forager Project, LLC
Filed: October 28, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-cv-06302
Forager Project, LLC is facing a proposed class action lawsuit alleging its 'cold-pressed' juice products are more highly processed than their labels indicate.
Forager Project, LLC is facing a proposed class action lawsuit alleging its “cold-pressed” juice products are more highly processed than their labels indicate. The suit takes issue with the defendant’s claims that its juices are “cold-pressed” when, according to the complaint, they undergo an additional processing step that increases shelf life but causes the juice to lose its compositional integrity. The plaintiff claims that cold-pressing is “an increasingly desired juice production method,” and that the defendant’s labels mislead consumers into thinking its products are only cold-pressed and not highly processed. The suit further argues that Forager Project charges a premium – $5.99 to $7.99 – for each bottle of juice based on the consumers’ false assumption that it will be healthier than other, more highly processed juices.
