Firstsource Advantage, LLC is the defendant in a proposed class action filed back in September by a New York woman who claims the debt collector failed to specify in a letter that her alleged debt amount was increasing. According to the complaint, the plaintiff received a collection notice from Firstsource Advantage that stated her “Account Balance” but neglected to mention whether accruing interest or other fees would be added, causing the balance to increase over time. The plaintiff says her account was indeed subject to interest, but as the defendant failed to elaborate on the details of any added fees as required by law, she was left uncertain as to her actual balance and could not determine how much she needed to pay on any given day.
