A lawsuit has been filed in Pennsylvania against Student Travel Services, Inc – which does business as STS Vacations – on behalf of consumers who purchased vacation insurance policies through the company. The suit claims the plaintiff and fellow travelers purchased vacation policies that the defendant claimed provided coverage for events such as medical emergencies and travel delays, among other things. The defendant allegedly said these policies were from Travel Guard, one of the country’s leading travel insurers. Unfortunately, the suit claims, the defendant had no business relationship with Travel Guard or any other insurance company, causing customers to spend money on “insurance” that could provide them with nothing in return. The suit proposes a class of individuals and companies who live in Pennsylvania and purchased this insurance or who live elsewhere but purchased this insurance while in the state.
