Selwyn v. Ltd Financial Services, LP
Filed: July 19, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv4120
A New York consumer has filed suit against LTD Financial Services, LP alleging the defendant sent him a “deceptive” collection letter.
A New York consumer has filed suit against LTD Financial Services, LP alleging the defendant sent him a “deceptive” collection letter. The plaintiff claims that although the September 2017 letter lawfully conveyed his right to dispute the debt, the notice listed more than one address belonging to the defendant, leaving him confused as to where to send his debt dispute.
“The letter provides the consumer no direction as to how to go about disputing his debt,” the complaint reads.
In sum, the lawsuit alleges that the defendant violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by engaging in “misleading debt collection communications.”
