Lawsuit Claims Canada Dry Ginger Ale Contains No Ginger
Last Updated on May 8, 2018
Margaryan v. Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Inc.
Filed: July 14, 2017 ◆§ 5:17-cv-04471
A class action complaint claims Canada Dry Ginger Ale does not contain any ginger, contrary to what defendant Dr. Pepper Snapple Group advertises.
A proposed class action filed back on July 14 claims Canada Dry Ginger Ale, sold by defendant Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Inc., does not contain any ginger. At issue in the 22-page complaint is the defendant’s use of the phrase “Made from Real Ginger” on the drinks’ labeling and in marketing and advertising materials, which the suit claims Dr. Pepper Snapple Group used as a tool to make the product more attractive to consumers. The case argues consumers would not have purchased, or would have paid significantly less for, Canada Dry had they known it contained no ginger at all.
