FCA US LLC is facing a proposed class action lawsuit that claims its 2017 to 2018 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles suffer from a manufacturing defect that causes them to 'shut off or stall without warning.'
FCA US LLC is facing a proposed class action lawsuit that claims its 2017 to 2018 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles suffer from a manufacturing defect that causes them to “shut off or stall without warning.” According to the complaint, the defendant is “unable or unwilling” to repair the vehicles and does not disclose the alleged defect to potential customers. “[I]nstead of repairing the Stalling Defect,” the suit argues, “FCA either refused to acknowledge its existence or performed repairs that simply masked [it].”
The plaintiffs claim their Pacifica stalled on several occasions, posing a safety hazard to the vehicle’s occupants and other drivers. “The Stalling Defect is dangerous,” the complaint explains, “preventing drivers from changing speed or steering, often while in traffic and at high rates of speed.”
The plaintiffs allege that they would not have purchased their vehicle, or would have paid less for it, had they known of the supposed issue.
