Betner v. Central Credit Services Llc et al
Filed: December 11, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv17064
A New Jersey consumer has filed suit against Central Credit Services over claims that the company failed to provide proper debt dispute instructions.
New Jersey
A New Jersey consumer has filed a proposed class action against Central Credit Services, LLC in which she claims the company failed to properly instruct her on how to effectively dispute her debt.
The defendant sent a collection letter to the plaintiff in December 2017 regarding an obligation owed to First Premier Bank, according to the suit. The case alleges the letter did not indicate to the woman that a dispute must be made in writing to obtain verification of the debt or a copy of any judgment against her. As such, the case argues, the plaintiff effectively waived her rights as a result of not being properly informed of her options.
