Alltran Financial, LP is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a New York man who claims the debt collector misstated the amount of his alleged debt. The plaintiff says he received a collection letter from Alltran that contained a “Current Amount Due,” but failed to clearly state whether the balance was increasing due to interest. The suit argues, however, that interest was, in fact, being added to the balance, as evidenced by a subsequent letter that allegedly listed a higher amount due.
