Filed: March 23, 2017 ◆§ 5:17-cv-01570
Samsung Electronics Co., LTD. and its subsidiary are facing a lawsuit that claims various Samsung smartphones 'are at risk of overheating, fire, and explosion.'
Samsung Electronics Co., LTD. and its subsidiary are once again facing a lawsuit that claims their products are unsafe to consumers. The latest lawsuit, filed in California, claims various Samsung smartphones “are at risk of overheating, fire, and explosion.” According to the complaint, Samsung recalled its Note7 devices after their lithium batteries were reported to overheat and cause injury to consumers; however, the company allegedly continues to manufacture and sell its other smartphones without warning consumers of a possible safety hazard. Samsung has supposedly received numerous reports of overheating and explosions from consumers who owned smartphones other than the Note7. Included in the list of possibly dangerous products are the S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, S6 Active, S7, S7 Edge, S7 Active, and Note5, according to the complaint.
