Gattoni v. Tsc Accounts Receivable Solutions
Filed: July 10, 2018 ◆§ 2:18cv5985
TSC Accounts Receivable Solutions is the defendant in a proposed class action that accuses the debt collector of sending an unlawful collection letter.
California
TSC Accounts Receivable Solutions is the defendant in a proposed class action that accuses the debt collector of sending an unlawful collection letter that left the recipient “unsure as to the balance of the debt.”
According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff in June 2018 received a letter from the defendant regarding a debt owed for medical services. The letter reportedly listed an “Amount Referred” of $537.36 and a “Total Balance” of $205.36, which allegedly confused the plaintiff as to which amount was actually owed. The suit argues that the defendant violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by failing to state the debt balance in a way that is understandable to the “unsophisticated consumer.”
